The Internet Marketers Guide On How To Stay Motivated

I personally know how difficult it can be to work out how to stay motivated as an online entrepreneur, as quite often things don’t turn out the way that you had planned them to.

Having been involved in the industry of internet marketing since 2006, there have been many ups and downs and certain periods when I wondered if it was all worth it.

But each time I thought of the alternative of living a so called normal life with a job, it brought me back to reality, and this was the main force that has kept me motivated the whole time.

We live in a world of never before seen opportunity, where people can become extremely wealthy without needing the head start of an abundance of money. Anybody can rise to the top with focus, hard work and lots of hustle.

This window of opportunity will almost certainly not last forever, so now is the time to start learning how you can become a successful online entrepreneur.

The fact is that it may possibly take many months or even a few years to become successful online. Some people get results very quickly, but 95% of marketers take time to master the skill. The problem with this is that a lot of people quit after a few weeks, or months and decide that it does not work.

To become a doctor or a lawyer takes many years of study and commitment. The good news is that internet marketing is quicker to learn than becoming a doctor, and it has the potential to pay a lot more.

Having established that is worth the journey, here are my seven tips on how to stay motivated:

1. Be persistent.

Make a decision that you going to master online marketing, and learn how to become a successful online entrepreneur. Once you realise that it takes time to learn the skills, then you should not be disappointed if results are slow and things are not happening as fast as you expected.

To become extremely successful in anything in life you have to be willing the pay the price in blood, sweat and tears. No one is going to hand it to you on a silver platter. You need to be responsible for your actions, not blame others, and realise that if it is going to be – it is up to me.

Try to get clear as soon as possible on what you are trying to achieve, and then what you need to do to get there. If you are not clear then sit down and work this out before you start doing any marketing.

2. Always begin with the end in mind.

Work backwards so that you know exactly what you need to achieve each day, week or month. And visualise yourself actually having achieved this target on a daily basis.

Decide precisely on what amount of money you want to make, and by what date. And then break it down into small pieces so that you know exactly what is required to achieve this target.

An example of this is working out how many leads you need each day to reach your target.

3. Be prepared to spend some money on your business.

Some people are not prepared to spend any money on their business, but still expect the results to come. This is not being realistic.how to stay motivated

Results will usually happen faster if you are using paid advertising, but you don’t necessarily have to be spending large amounts to get results.

If you are using free or low cost marketing strategies, then make sure you are adding a lot of value and are not just spamming people with your biz op. If you are using this approach, then you are paying more with your time, than with your money.

You will need to be spending some money to get any results though, even if that is just for web hosting and your email auto responders. These are the basic requirements that everybody needs.

I have never heard of any profitable business that didn’t have any expenses.

4. Prioritise your time.

If you are currently working a job, then it can be difficult to find time and motivation to run an online business as well.

We all have 24 hours in a day, and it just a matter of prioritising what is more important. Take a look at what current activities you could cut out of your schedule. Watching TV is the most common activity that eats up people’s time, and does nothing to get them closer to their goals.

People working a job have on average 68 hours a week in which they are not working or sleeping, so there is plenty of time to work on your business if you are serious. You may need to sacrifice your late nights and burn the midnight oil.

5. Plan your day.

Each night you should take 10 minutes to plan your day for tomorrow. This way when you sit down at your desk, you should know straight away what are the most important activities to start working on.

Otherwise it is too tempting to get distracted on social media or news sites, while you try to work out what you should be doing. You should be able to sit down and immediately know what to get started on, and then get cracking.

I use my Google calendar to keep track of this, because it sends me emails to remind me.

6. Stay focused on what you are currently doing.

It is so easy to get distracted with the thousands of biz ops that are out there.

No doubt you are going to get emails and messages from people asking you to check out their biz op. If you are happy with the business that you are in now, then it is best to ignore all of the noise and concentrate on marketing your business.

It is best to get one business working first, before you even consider joining any more – providing you are satisfied with your current business. Unsubscribe to all those lists that are just wasting your time and spamming you.

7. Find a mentor.

If you can find someone that already has achieved the results that you are striving for, then see if you can ask them for some help. This is obviously a lot easier if they are your sponsor, but if not there is no harm in asking.

The worst thing that you can do is try to figure it all out on your own, as more than likely your choices will cause you to waste many hours doing things the wrong way. If you can’t get direct access to a top producer, then follow them on social media and on their blog, and model what they are doing.

If you are having trouble staying motivated then these 7 tips should enable you to get that spark back and start taking your business seriously. It is easy to just accept a job as your only income for your entire life, but the problem with this is that it is not a very rewarding way to live.
